Week 32 100wc: Rhea

Standard

Gone!!

Max and I were best buddies. Max was my dog he was with me wherever I went, until the pound took him and I felt distraught and devastated. It took five of the staff to hold me back. He was gone. He was gone forever.

That night I snuck into the pound and overheard some of their conversation. Some of the words sounding like a foreign language. I think they were saying that they were going to kill max!!! So I raced in my heart pounding like a herd of elephants. When I got there, they had him! I gave them a piece of my mind, grabbed max and ran off into the descending darkness…

This is a very slick short story- congratulations! From the title itself, right down to the ending, we know we are in for a treat! It is well constructed but not overly so! You show a sophisticated grasp of grammar and you use it to your advantage. Your vocabulary is rich but not over-played. You use alliteration and similies to add drama and tension too. Then the plot of course is a winner- the bond between a child and a dog! Great effort.
